For indoor space 1 chicken need 2 sq ft, for 5 chicken you need 10 sq ft, to get a clear idea multiply number of chicken you are planning to keep with 2. For outdoor each chicken need 3-4 Sq ft area, so for 5 chickens you need atleast 15 sq ft area for their run which is very importand for them.
